Ground stabilisation project to alleviate issues with subsidence at the drivethrough and adjacent areas.
The existing services and surfaces had settled over a number of years, leading to immediate need for remedial action. The existing gas tank and storage area required mini-piling and new slab with associated making good of connecting pipework to building.
The adjacent ground and footpath was stripped, excavated to formation level and the new structure installed. This included a Maccaferri Reno mattress and a Paralink geogrid system back-filled with crushed aggregate and overlaid with topsoil and turf.
The carriageway, also displaying subsidence was excavated to formation level, concrete slab was tied into the adjacent slab and ACO drainage incorporated. The final layers of flexible surfacing and thermoplastic lining were completed out of hours.
This was a very small footprint and required meticulous planning with the McDonalds Store manager to ensure all services were kept live, and the drivethrough operational for the duration of the contract.
