Having long established links with Farrans Construction, MARTIN were delighted to be given the opportunity to work with them on the prestigious Craigavon Hospital ALDU PICU project. Extensive experience in public realm works and an established supply network for Natural Stone, Paving Materials, Specialist Hardwood, and Bespoke Steelwork, enabled MARTIN to offer added value to a well-established contracts team.
MARTIN has successfully completed the full hard landscaping package for the project, including the full supply and installation of all hard landscaping features, to the various courtyards and reflective spaces throughout the Healthcare complex.
Following on from the success of the Skainos Project, (including the 2013 RICS Awards, receiving ‘Highly Commended’ in the Regeneration category, winning the Community Benefit category and also being awarded the coveted ‘Project of Year’ award), MARTIN were invited once again to work with Farrans, on the Craigavon Hospital Hard Landscaping package. This included the supply and installation of;
· Tobermore Block Paving elements
· Feature landscaping and earthworks
· Decorative synthetic grass surfaces
· Supply and installation of Ekki, Azobe and Green Oak Timber Sleeper Walls and planters
· Bespoke Natural Stone Benches, Spheres, Seating Cubes, feature Obelisks and art pieces
· Bespoke Corten Steel and Chrome Steel Sculptures
· Supply and erection of feature PVC Greenhouse
· Bespoke Opepe timber picnic table and benches and cuboid seating blocks
As hard landscaping contractors, it was critical that MARTIN delivered their package in line with the Main Contractors Programme, which meant working closely with all parties on site to ensure that access to the various areas of the complex was unimpeded to the various other trades on site.
From our experience in the industry MARTIN has forged strong relationships with a specialist supply base in the Hard Landscaping sector, with sources for materials from all over the world. This supply network enabled MARTIN to add value from an early stage in the development of the concept proposals for each outdoor space, by providing material suggestions and samples to allow the design team to evaluate the most attractive, sustainable and suitable products for use on the project.
